What To Expect
Your session will often take place either early morning or a few hours prior to sunset when the quality of light is at its best! Often times we will want to pick one of the two that works best for the children. This should be when they are at a happy energetic state which will allow their curiosity to take flight.
At Your Home: Sessions will usually take place at your home if your child is under One year. This is where children are more comfortable at and will open up. It’s always difficult when you take a small child to a brand new place and a crazy photographer lady. Eliminating as many variables as possible will allow us the most success.
I will usually arrive about 15 minutes prior to our session. At this time, I’d love to either be shown around to every room or simply allowed free range. This is the time where I will find the best light in the house, possible item that you may like included in your portraits but didn’t think about it before. We may move some furniture around but no worries, I’ll help put it back!
When sessions are done in the home, I basically bring a studio to your house! My poor SUV is running out of room! I will have several backgrounds, blankets, hats and props to incorporate into the portraits. Our session will usually last 1-2 hours and often times more than that if it’s a newborn. Sessions are not rushed and should always be relaxed. If you have a young child, please have a few snacks on hand in case they are needed.
On Location: These sessions are great for families, seniors, couples and kids. We’ll pick a spot that will spotlight your family; whether it be at a local ice cream parlor, downtown Tampa, Ybor, a local park or even the beach! Often times with outdoor sessions, we’ll do a bit of walking to take in every vantage point and create truly unique portraits. Sessions will last 1-2 hours and if the venue allows for it, feel free for an outfit change!
Please bring non messy snacks (avoid stuff that is sticky or highly colored) for the little ones and even a bottle of water for the Florida heat.
Underwater: Underwater sessions typically take place at your private pool and require that the members of your family are confident swimmers. We will discuss prior to the session the idea and feel you want for the session. Whether it be everyone in their swim clothes or the kids in dressy outfits to themed underwater fairy portraits. Be prepared for a workout because underwater portraits are not easy. We will take breaks throughout to let everyone recuperate.
After the session is complete, a sneak peek from your session will be posted on the website a few days later. Your online gallery that is password protected will be posted 2 weeks after your session has been completed. All orders will be placed within a week.
