Summer {Tampa Beach Portrait Photographer}

I’m guessing you may have seen the behind the scenes video of this wonderful family- now it’s time to see some super cute sneak peek portraits to go along with the video! All three kids play instruments and decided that they wanted to bring them along to get portraits taken with them- hey I was game! I love when kids decide to incorporate something into their photos. The two youngest are also both in choir (kids after my own heart!) and are both a joy to work with. Their mom said that they had been looking forward to this session for a while and the part they couldn’t wait to do was jump in the water. Enjoy their great session here locally in Tampa. I couldn’t decide which ones to show, so there is quite the selection!

Today I had a fabulous session with a terrific family! I’ve had this idea for a session in my head for the longest time, and was finally super excited to have a family who jumped at the idea… literally!

Spring What To Wear {Tampa Portrait Photographer}

I used to think I was a fashion flop, but since being in photography and the retail world, I have realized that
“Yes!” you can pair those stripe leggings with polka dotted tutu!
Each season I hope to post an image of the season’s current fashions and ideas for your family portraits, however, for those who love to raid your closets, here are my tips…
Patterns are fun to play around with. Be careful when coordinating an entire family because too many patterns will be crazy. In an ideal world, I would suggest keeping the kids in the patterned clothing if it fits their personality.
BOLD is beautiful. I love bold colors because they are so rich and vibrant and really do make a portrait look amazing!
Matchy Matchy is not the way to go. Pick a color pallet or simply two colors and vary the shades. Mix solids with a pattern for some flavor and fun.
Yes, I know it’s Florida… but layers are amazing as well as providing multiple looks. Think scarves, vests, jackets, leggings, hats and belts!
Texture…. it’s a must! Don’t bother with simply all cotton or all silk. Mix a knit cable vest with some denim and a long sleeve cotton top. Textures just add depth and interest for the eye to travel.
Lastly… add some personal style. The outfits you pick out may look wonderful on a hanger but remember to add just a bit more personal touch to the outfits. Perhaps your son goes nowhere without his pair of converse sneakers… just because you picked out dressier clothes doesn’t mean those converse don’t look cute! Trust me…. they are adorable!
Have fun with it! If ever you need advice or would even love a wardrobe shopping expedition buddy- if I’m free, I’m up for the adventure!

What To Wear Mom and Daughter {Tampa Portrait Photographer}

I know how hard it can sometimes be when picking out an outfit to wear for portraits. A lot of us think that we need to get all dressy and very matchy matchy. It’s hard to get out of that thought process, but the best images are when a family is not all wearing blue jeans and a white top. Try to pick a couple of colors and then base it around that in different shades. Portraits are about you and your family, not about the clothes. Clothes will of course add interest to your portraits, but be sure it fits with your style! Here’s just an example of how to pair outfits for a mother and daughter session.

Yay! I finally managed to get my new Gift Certificates in stock. Gift Certificates are a great way to gift someone with a gift that gives for generations to come. Whether you need a baby shower gift, holiday or birthday gift- Gift Certificates can be purchased at particular dollar value, or you can gift them with their session fee/creative fee, perhaps a particular product or even collection. The options are endless!

Portfolio {Tampa Portrait Photographer}

I know as a client, there is just about an unlimited supply of photographers you can choose from to have your special memories captured. Here at The Lucky Duck Studio, we’re growing and evolving all the time. We strive to offer the highest quality products, great service and a memorable experience. As of August 1, 2011 we will be moving out of our portfolio pricing and moving forward with our new collections and offerings.
If you would like to have a session this year and keep current portfolio pricing, then sessions will need to be booked and reserved by August 1, 2011. You do not have to have the session by August 1st, merely have a date booked and creative fee paid. We truly treasure you as clients and hope to see you in the coming months! Love {Clearwater Beach Portrait Photographer}

Today could not have been a better day for this beautiful couple’s portraits! We’ve been planning this session for several months now and today we had a fabulous time at a Clearwater Beach. I don’t get to the beach hardly ever unless it’s taking portraits. I’ve forgotten how much I enjoy beach sessions and with the weather finally warm, beach sessions are in full swing.
Congratulations to this wonderful couple and their 1 year anniversary!

<3 iPhone {Tampa Portrait Photographer}

Oh how I love my iPhone… but I love photos just as much. My poor phone has been living in a decent case for a while, but it was one of those “need a case real quick” kind that I got from Target. I love target, don’t get me wrong; but I also love being able to show off portraits. Since I don’t have a studio where I can show off all of my beautiful clients (I bring products to sessions), I wanted a way to personalize my phone. I’ve been loving the custom iPhone cases I’ve been seeing around on the net and finally took the plunge! I just ordered my own personal one today and when it comes in, will likely create one for my iPod. Check out the current designs I’m offering for your iPhone or iPod touch. These designs are good for both the 4G and 3GS. I’ll be working on iPad cases soon too. Please be sure to contact me if you’re interested in purchasing one for you or a family member. These can be made with your previous session images or a future session!

Maternity Mini’s {Tampa Maternity Portraits}

Wow, we’re going to have one busy month of June for The Lucky Duck Studio. Not only are we hosting the first annual Picnic in the Park Mini Portrait Sessions on June 19th, we’re also hosting Free Mini Maternity portraits on June 5th for anyone due in July, August, or September that book a newborn session . It’s a great time to get a few maternity portraits before the arrival of your little one! Check out the details below and be sure to book ASAP! The following time slots are available and are first come first serve- sessions will be in Hyde Park, Tampa.
Morning Evening
7:15am, 8:00am, 8:45am, 9:20am 5:40pm, 6:15pm, 6:45pm, 7:15pm
20 Minute Maternity Mini’s are good for mom-to-be (and dad-to-be) only.
You’ll receive your maternity images on your Newborn Session CD (15-20 files) printable to 8×10.
Free 8×10 wall portrait of my favorite image!
Just remember, you’ll need to book/pay for your upcoming Newborn Session first by May 31st, we’ll pencil
you in for around your due date to get you on the calendar and then you’ll pick the time you’d like for your mini session!
