Halfway there! {Tampa family photographer}

I have been a terrible blogger so far this year. Shame on me! I hope you all will forgive me. I’ve set a few goals this year to improve my blogging frequency and to update the galleries! The galleries are seriously lacking so they should be at the top of my list.

I had the pleasure of photographing a 6 month session the very last day of 2012! I enjoy watching my baby planners grow throughout the year, and this one is no different. Miss H is finally 6 months and is doing such a great job on sitting up! She knows how to rock her rocking chair (with dad’s careful eye), loves splashing in the bath water and generally has such an amazing smile and sweet personality.

Distance {Tampa Portrait Photographer}

I first had the pleasure of meeting this family from a mutual friend a few years back when I was looking for a maternity model. Jennifer answered my call and while she was awaiting the arrival of their daughter, I got to capture those memories. Sadly, it wasn’t much longer after Miss D was almost a year that the family moved 3+ hours away! I am truly blessed to have had them come all the way to get family photos taken. It meant the world and being able to play with not only 1 but 2 joyful children and capture this fun family!

A Little Bit Country {Tampa Family Photographer}

It’s likely no surprise to many of you that I’m a country girl at heart. When given the chance to theme a session either vintage or country… I will gladly jump on it. I was so excited to be contacted by this family for one of my casting calls (check them out if you are not familiar with them) and was simply tickled pink as we planned the session. I’m hoping to get a blog post from the mom who made it all happen with her awesome complimenting outfits for the whole family.

So many photographers will tell you they try to get images containing dad in them done first because most men don’t want to do portraits or they too might have a short attention span like the kids. Can I just commend this awesome father?!? I was so blessed to see how truly wonderful this dad interacted with the kids, ran silly circles (check out the last image) to get the kids to smile and simply let me torture him for just “one more” photo. I sincerely thank you because we need a lot more fathers like that when it comes to portraits!

Without further wait, please take  a look at this gorgeous family who roughed it through a pasture, lots of gnats and humidity that literally dripped from you (not to mention the fright I probably looked by the end of the session).

Bubbles {Underwater Portrait Photographer}

I’m not sure I ever told anyone… but my love of photography began with my first glimpse of underwater photography. I was drawn to it and to this day it’s what sparked my passion. I started with torturing my sister into posing underwater for me no matter the season and boy was she a trooper.

I now hold a special place for the littlest models in my underwater world. It started with an ISR (Infant Swim Resource) marathon portrait session and continues on it’s journey. Meet this little doll! I was concerned with knowing she was only 5 but man was her mom right! She is such a swimmer and so natural underwater. I could not stop from laughing as she kept me on my toes and seriously entertained me.

Welcome Home {OpLove Homecoming Session}

I love knowing that a family is going to be Reunited! It’s always a great feeling and fills you with happiness. If anyone should know about the sacrifices a family makes when a loved one is deployed, it’s this one. This father/husband has been deployed 3 times already! Mom is also in the military! I was just so blessed to have been able to be there when this wonderful father got to see his little girl for what seems to be such a long time.

A warm welcome home to him and a big thank you for all the he and our fellow service members do!

Freckles {Child Portrait Photography}

I had the pleasure of taking portraits of Madison just the other day. She’s so full of spunk, loves to draw, talk and model. This sweet girl definitely dances to her own beat and I love it! She’s a wonderful big sister, super inquisitive and simply a blast to play with. Meet Madison and you’re sure to fall in love with her as well!

She’s Four {Tampa Portrait Photographer}

You may recall this little cutie from here. She’s older now, her hair is longer and she is just as adorable! We hung out like we were the best of buddies and she even got to make friend with one of my own! She adores Disney Princesses just about as much as I do, so we had lots of fun playing dress up and getting our nerd on!

He’s Home {OpLove Photographer}

As many of you know, I volunteer with Operation Love Reunited (OpLove). We photographers who volunteer with this organization get to be a part of such memorable moments. I had been talking to Nicole since February in regards to capturing the moment her husband comes home and sees his daughters once again. We had been going back and forth for about a week in regards to new updates as to when he was actually going to be coming home. You can imagine the complications that could arise when flights are delayed or mechanical issues need resolving in addition to 8+ hour time difference. I’m so glad that his flight was finally coming and I would actually be able to meet this adorable family.

We arrived about 30 minutes before his flight was to arrive and interacted with all three girls (mom and two little ones). The girls were great! They had so much energy for it being 10:00pm and the eldest had quite a few jokes that I had to go and share with my own friends! The most difficult part about homecomings is that when they come off the plane or shuttle, you really don’t know who to look for…. except this man was the exception! He got to fly with his K9 and only he was the one to come off the shuttle with one. icon biggrin Hes Home {OpLove Photographer} Man if only all of these were that easy! Anyways- without further wait, please enjoy this small sneak peek as I continue working on their session. I’m so blessed to have been a part of this moment.

It’s In The Curls {Mini Session}

Curls…. Curls… Curls! Oh how I love thee. These sweet girls were just absolutely adorable! As previously mentioned, you know my long lost love for freckles and the littlest one did not disappoint with her small smattering of freckles. I was so happy that I was able to meet up with this family just prior to leaving from New Mexico as they are such a lovely bunch. The girls definitely did not lack in energy and oh how I wish I could have just an ounce of what they do!

Sisters {Mini Session Portrait}

This family is so full of laughter. I had a great time looking over the images we captured and dad has quite a few silly faces to show me. I’m positive mom will get a few extra laughs of her own. Their oldest girl is my nephew’s favorite and how could she not be? Those soft curls and gorgeous eyes should be the envy of every little girl. I cannot wait to see this family grow and to see how protective the sisters become of eachother!
